Be Responsible During Your Trip with GoRide & GoCar: Ways To Prevent Coronavirus (COVID-19) Transmission
Gojek · 26 Mar 2020

Hi Gojekers,

Health and safety are our collective responsibilities. In line with general recommendations from the Ministry of Health, we also make various efforts to provide maximum protection for our entire ecosystem. Therefore, to prevent the spread of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we urge GoRide & GoCar driver-partners and users to keep calm. Maintain your vigilance, health, and check these infographics on how to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 here: Protect Yourself Against COVID-19.

Avoid direct contact with others and #stayathome as much as possible.

But if you are in an urgent need to travel, together we can carry out each trip responsibly. Click to navigate your way to a specific section in this article:

GoRide & GoCar’s Passenger Guide to Prevent COVID-19

Perform the following steps to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission during your trip.

Keep calm and be responsible during your GoRide trip:

  • Bring your own helmet.
  • If you’re using our driver-partner’s helmet, please ensure to sanitize your hand with a cleanser containing at least 60% alcohol before putting on and after taking off the helmet.
  • Wear a face mask if you’re not feeling well.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow when coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your face during the trip.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after getting off the vehicle.
  • Choose cashless forms of payment as much as possible to minimize contact with others.

Keep calm and be responsible during your GoCar trip:

  • Keep your hands clean with hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol, before and after touching the car’s door handle.
  • Wear a face mask if you are not feeling well.
  • Do not dispose of used masks and tissues inside the car.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow when sneezing/coughing.
  • Avoid touching your face during the trip.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after getting off the vehicle.
  • Choose cashless forms of payments as much as possible to minimize contact with others.

Driver Education Efforts for COVID-19 Prevention

In addition, to provide safer travel guidelines amid COVID-19 challenges, we also share advice and education to our driver-partners to maintain their health and safety, including:

  • Remind driver-partners to get enough rest when they’re feeling unwell.
  • Ask driver-partners to use clean clothes and attributes. We urge partner drivers to wear gloves to avoid direct physical contact with customers and clean their helmets using disinfectant liquid each time they use it.
  • Urge driver-partners to maintain the hygiene of their vehicles, especially in motorbike areas that are often exposed to physical contact with driver partners or customers. Some of these areas include;
    • motorcycle handlebar, handbrake, seat, rear seat grip, and other areas for GoRide.
    • steering the car and passenger seat for GoCar.
  • Urge driver-partners to be more careful when picking up and dropping off customers, by:
    • reducing physical contact with customers during the delivery process.
    • reducing conversations frequency with customers as a precaution.
