Rendezvous with friends and dates in this wonderful, warm café. There’s plenty of sun-lit spaces to snuggle up in or update your Instagram stories with, but the eatery’s true highlight is its Ravioles de Roan.

See: Tiong Bahru Murals

You don’t need to go to Penang for street murals – Singapore’s very own Yip Yew Chong has done a couple in Tiong Bahru, all of which show vignettes of past lives lived in the area. Psst… the artist has also written about the process of creating these murals here.

Of course there’s a record store in Tiong Bahru. This one carries everything from Mariah Carey to Backstreet Boys to even a Stranger Things soundtrack album, but you’re just as likely to stumble upon an indie artist or two personally hand-selected by the folks behind the counter.

Explore: SIT flats

Where: Seng Poh Road and Tiong Bahru Road

These art deco flats were developed by the Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) in the 1930s, and they still stand here, against the test of time. The geometric features of these homes make for stunning photos too.
