Let’s GOJEK! Things to do this weekend (26–28 April 2019)
01 Nov 2019

Mark your calendars, call a GOJEK, put on your fancy shoes, and get out for the weekend! This list of things to do guarantees a whole lotta fun.

Eat: Islamic Restaurant

Where: 745 North Bridge Road

With over 96 years of experience under their belt, it’s not a surprise that the family running Islamic Restaurant has served everyone from the likes of first President Yusoff Bin Ishak to, well, the humble team that runs GOJEK Singapore. We swear by the mutton biryani – the meat is fork-tender, the rice fluffy and warm.

Shop: Makers’ Market

When: 25 May

Where: 115 King George’s Avenue

Hosted by the craftsmen from local woodworking team Roger&Sons, this Makers’ Market has everything from free camera obscura workshops to local skincare products. Also: free LiHo milk teas if you’re one of the first 25 to bring your own cups.

See: Floating Utopias: The Transformative Power of Inflatable Art

When: Until 29 September

Where: ArtScience Museum

Up, up, and away has always been within our reach since the invention of the hot-air balloon. This exhibition explores how this has changed the way we’ve perceived the world around us. Expect over 40 artworks and installations, some of which are really quite larger than life.

Play: The Wanderlust Party – Scotland (Winterfell)

When: 24 May

Where: Propeller, Bay Hotel

Still reeling from all that’s happened in the latest season of Game of Thrones? You’re not alone. Bring your friends, party on/weep/scream with fellow fans, and continuously be in awe of a world with a dragon named Drogon. A $80 entry includes free-flow Scottish/Winterfell-themed drinks and food.

Explore: Punggol Waterway Park

Where: Along Sentul Crescent Road

Take a breather from Singapore’s concrete jungles and disconnect with the family at this park – it comes equipped with tracks for cycling and jogging, a water playground for the kiddos, and plenty of greenery to simply bask in.
