COVID-19: How we’re helping our driver-partners

On top of preventive measures you should take to protect yourself, here's how we're continuing to protect your earnings if you've been quarantined or diagnosed with COVID-19.

 



🔸 Prolonged medical leave insurance coverage under the Freelancer Earnings Protection scheme 


As part of GoalBetter, driver-partners who are covered under the Freelancer Earnings Protection (FLEP) program will be covered under prolonged medical leave insurance in the event that you are diagnosed with COVID-19, served with a QO or have to take medical leave. 


Effective 22 Oct 2021, drivers who have tested COVID positive as indicated below will be eligible for the claims:

  1. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) positive test result with a valid MC - max 10 days payout with 1 day excess
  2. Antigen Rapid Test (ART) positive test result, MC will be required - max 3 days payout with 1 day excess*


*From 1 Jan 2023, the payout will be adjusted to max 2 days payout with 1 day excess.

🔸 GoalBetter tier protection when you are unable to drive


If you are diagnosed with COVID-19, your GoalBetter tier qualification criteria for the next program period will be prorated by 7 days upon submitting the necessary documents to us, so that you can focus on recovering.


How to qualify for the GoalBetter tier qualification proration

GoalBetter driver-partners will need to provide proof of the positive ART result to us via Sync or by providing documentation from a GP/hospital.

 

Example: 

If you are currently a Premium driver and have been diagnosed with COVID-19, instead of the usual trip accumulation period of 91 days, your trip accumulation period will be 84 days (91 - 7 days).

Q: I am diagnosed with COVID-19. How do I protect my GoalBetter tier?

A: If you are diagnosed with COVID-19, your GoalBetter tier qualification criteria for the next program period will be prorated accordingly. 

 

Please let us know via in-app (Help > COVID-19 advisory > I have received a COVID-19 notice) with a photo of your ART positive result and our team will reach out to you shortly.

 

Q: How can I purchase the FLEP policy?

A: Driver-partners from the Pro and Elite GoalBetter tiers do not have to pay anything to enjoy this coverage – premiums will be fully paid for by Gojek.

Q: I am under FLEP and I am diagnosed with COVID-19. How do I make a claim?
