Here, we feature a handful of stories from our driver-partners to celebrate 5 ways they went the extra mile to provide 5-star service.
Some of our driver-partners shared how they stuck to their principles and even went out of their way to return extra cash to their customers. Thank you for your honesty!
“He praised my honesty, especially because he was drunk at that time and a driver could have easily taken the money pretending it was a cash trip. He went on further to show his appreciation and gave me a tip for coffee,” added Sajeewa Silva.
Zakaria Bin Daud went the extra mile to return extra change to a student. After fetching a student to Woodlands Secondary School for her examination, he did not have enough small change for her $50 note, and could only return part of it first. The customer asked him to keep the change as she was rushing for her examination.
Afterwards, Zakaria managed to get the change at a nearby petrol kiosk, and returned the balance of change to the school office. Later in the evening, the student thanked him for his honesty.
Our driver-partners have also done their fair share in helping others in need. On behalf of all the customers that you've helped when there was no one else around - thank you!
Gordon Ho offered help to drunk passengers. After arriving at their destination, he provided tissues for them to clean up and lent a helping hand for them to get off the road to ensure their safety. "I also offered to call their loved ones down to pick them to avoid any unnecessary troubles for the drunk passengers.”
Lim Sze Teck was also extra patient with an injured customer. “I helped an injured rider to the Neighborhood Police Post (NPP) to update their NRIC address at no extra cost. The whole journey took 2.5h since NPPs are unmanned now.”
We received a lot of stories on how our Gojek drivers have gone above and beyond to provide 5-star service for your older customers. While we wish we could feature all of them, here are some of our favorites:
How Shu Min shared about a time when someone helped to book a ride for a lost senior citizen who could only remember her block and road name. “So I went with her to find out where she lives in the block to send her home.”
Meanwhile, drivers like Jordan Sim helped the elderly to carry their groceries to their lift lobby, and Ong Poh Kwang once helped an elderly passenger carry their microwave up to their apartment.
Koh Tee Wong also shared how after he helped the grandma into the car from her wheelchair, he took extra care to drive slowly to avoid jerking the car as she mentioned that she was prone to carsickness.
From providing tissue paper for customers to dry themselves when it’s raining, to lowering down the volume of the music when customers fall asleep on the trip and even providing discounts out of their own pocket for sick or elderly passengers, our drivers shared how they put their customers’ needs ahead of their own.
Gojek drivers have also gone out of their way to help their customers with their forgotten belongings - from lost wallets and phones left behind in their cars or in the passengers’ homes, to groceries and perishable items!
Hezri Bin Karim found a plastic bag of perishable goods left in his car by a customer. Since he remembered who the items belonged to, he was determined to return the items to the customer. With the help of the Gojek operator, he managed to return the perishable items to the customer within the same day.
